albinamuro011

Summer is here and we can now enjoy the sea, bathing in its clean and warm waters. On boat trips, we can also see dolphins on many occasions and countless seabirds florida keys fishing.

With the combination of good weather and holidays, summer is the time when most people start fishing, although there are several factors to consider before entering the world of fishing.

The most coveted summer fish

The bluefish is one of the most sought-after and well-known fish by fishing enthusiasts. Fortunately, this type of fish seeks warm waters and in Spain we find them between the months of May and October in the Strait of Gibraltar, the Andalusian Atlantic and the entire Mediterranean coast. When choosing the bait, we could say that it is a kind of “fine-snouted fish”, so we should use fresh bait.

Catfish is another of the most sought-after species at this time of year. To achieve a higher percentage of success in fishing it, we should use baits that smell bad, such as shrimp.

The white pomfret is one of the fish that, in relation to its size, gives the most fight. It moves in small groups near the coast, normally on sandy bottoms, which is why both surfcasting and spinning are very useful techniques for catching it. It usually attacks small schools of smaller fish, therefore, the ideal bait to catch it is small and fresh fish, such as sardines or anchovies.

Onboard equipment

When fishing, it is very important to choose the right equipment for the right purpose in order to achieve the best fishing results. For this reason, Lovit Charter recommends the use of the appropriate sonar and charting for effective and safe fishing.

The most effective ways to fish

Mastering summer fishing is no easy task. So let's move on to the most common and effective technique used this season:

Spin fishing . It consists of casting and collecting the hook simulating the movement of a fish, making the bait much more attractive.

Bottom fishing . At Lovit Charter we want to give you an unforgettable experience. For bottom fishing we use the “chambel” technique, which consists of using 2 hooks per rod. The recommended time for fishing is about 4 hours.

Deep sea trolling . Deep sea fishing off the coast of Marbella is recommended during the summer months, as the water temperature is higher and fish from the Atlantic Ocean enter the Mediterranean Sea.

Types of reeds

Different types of fishing require different types of rods. When spinning fishing, you need to provide movement after the cast, and these rods have features that encourage the bait to move after the cast. They also use small weights and hooks to keep the bait from becoming lighter and easier to jerk.

Casting rods are longer rods that are mounted above the handle, as opposed to spinning rods which are mounted below the reel.

The launched

Casting rods require you to lock the line as the lure sinks to prevent knots, while spinning rods allow you to simply release the lure as it moves and then retrieve it.

Once you understand this, all you have to do is have the patience to get into the fight. You must remember that the most desired fish can weigh several kilos, so you must tire them out enough to get them out of the water and not let them escape or cut your line.
